 NONPROFIT     FUNDRAISING

Picture
By using inspired fundraising techniques, I produce direct mail/email campaigns that will increase the number of donors and volunteers for your nonprofit.

              Increase Support by Knowing Donors

PictureHold on to your donors by appealing to their interests.
The nonprofit, whose board I sat on, completed a 24 hour  community wide fundraiser back in March called Amplify Austin.  Board members, staff, and supporters were able to raise  over $4000, which is the most we have ever raised for the annual event.
On my part, the greatest success was found in my email campaign. By individually contacting potential donors, I was able to promote the event  while making a more personal appeal to the people with whom I already had a relationship. I showed them how to donate and potentially strengthen their support for the organization by attending events.
As an organization, we had fallen short in our efforts to build a reliable donor list.  But now we know, the first step to keeping donors is by getting to know them.
"Getting to know them" does not mean soliciting them only during fundraising time.  You should create a relationship  where they become a "good buddy" you can rely on, and vice versa. Increase support by bringing them into the family, so to speak.
Make  donors  and volunteers, as well as prospects (prospective donors), a part of regular correspondence. You can promote  meaningful and beneficial events by surveying their interests, first. Each member of your team  might have a group of donors and prospects that they can cultivate.   Everybody should be given the opportunity to become strong supporters.

          Networking Helps  Promote Events

Picture Share the Load
The key to growth is networking.  Growth means  more people becoming involved with your organization as board members, volunteers, and  donors.  This can include other like-minded organizations.
That means you are able to become more significant  to the community. Networking  increases contact among and between all supporters, and prospective supporters. You will be able to  promote  your events and inspire your supporters towards the mission's  goal.

Staying Relevant Develops Community
When  programs stagnate, neither go up nor down, participation becomes flat. That is an indication that the community is either not aware of the good things you are doing or your activities have become irrelevant.
Staying on the positive side, I will assume the former.  So it becomes a matter of  increasing supporters who can  identify  with, and  strengthen your  position in the community.
You can do that by  recognizing who or what is  at the
hub of all the activities.  Your organization could  well be a hub. The hub is a well known influencer in the community because it knows many people and is known by  many people. A hub usually enjoys the status as an authority.  A hub likes sharing information through social media and connecting to people – solidifying and  growing their network in the process. They do this when they  promote your events and increase support for the organization.
Being an authority encourages the public to trust the integrity of your organization. People will then be more inclined to commit their time, energy and money to  your programs and services.  As a result, your organization can find ways to work with people and show supporters what it means to share the load.  By promoting events and increasing support, your mission  becomes more attainable and the tasks more rewarding and enjoyable.  You will be able to develop a community around your efforts.
